Early Morning Front Page!

Early this morning my Wayfarer Purse with a Bird Applique made it to Etsy's front page!  The very sweet Feyza of lovely Ikabags sent me an convo to let me know. I missed seeing the front page but got a screen shoot of the treasury. Thanks so much Ozetta for creating such a stunning treasury and thanks Etsy for selecting it for the front page!

An Update from the Pesky Cat Designs Studio

Isaac Singer Statue, Garment District, 7th Ave., Manhattan, New York The Wayfarer Purse In Faux Leather by Pesky Cat Designs It's been a bit slow at the Pesky Cat Designs studio recently. My vacation to Florida and some new projects that I am involved in took me away from the studio for a while. Things are moving ahead now as I have quite a few bags in production and lots of new design ideas in the works. Newly listed in the shop is the Wayfarer Purse in Faux Leather with a Bird Applique posted above.  This week I must replenish my faux leather stock which is down to just a few yards. One of my favorite parts of the creative process is perusing the seemingly never ending aisles of fabric available in the shops of the Garment District in New York City.  If I ever move away from here I will most definitely miss the luxury of having such a huge selection of fabric available to me within walking distance of my home!

Monday Sales and Gifts

Today my Wayfarer Purse with a Flower Applique , shown above, sold from my Etsy shop. The purse is made from a faux leather I purchased at a lovely home decor fabric shop in South Carolina during my recent road trip/vacation. There was a big lounge chair on display that was upholstered with this fabric and it looked fantastic. I was so impressed I had to buy a few yards. They rolled the fabric on this really long tube and it almost didn't fit in the car. I'll tell you, this fabric did quite a lot of traveling before it reached its destination in NYC!   Also, today I decided to send a gift to a very special person.  So my latest creation, The Classic Shoulder Bag with a Horse Applique , will be traveling to its destination tomorrow. I hope she loves it! I'll have more horse inspired creations in the Pesky Cat Designs shop very soon.

Horse Farms and Front Pagers

I was so inspired by my recent road trip that took me through all the beautiful horse farms located in Ocala, Florida , that I had to create a handbag to celebrate this majestic animal. Ocala is a city in Marion County, Florida, USA.  Marion County is one of the major thoroughbred centers of the world, with over 1,200 horse farms in total and about 600 thoroughbred farms. While driving by these beautiful farms I told my partner that I would love to have a home on a couple of acres with some horses. My partner, who grew up with horses, quickly made sure that I was aware of all that work that is involved with taking care of a horse and how much food they eat. It did not take me long to snap out of my day dream!  Also, today my Wayfarer Purse in Chartreuse made it to Etsy's front page! It was created by an Etsy administrator using the search term "lime green."  I had so many of my Etsy friends write to me and let me know. Thanks guys! I feel very lucky to have meet so many

Greetings from Miami Beach!

Last Tuesday my partner Tom and I left NYC to embark on a road trip to Florida. Along the way we made lots of stops. One of my favorite places so far was Savannah, Georgia. The city is just beautiful with Spanish moss hanging from trees everywhere and quaint looking homes. I could picture myself living there. One of the most adventerous places we visited was Juniper Springs Park in Ocala, Florida. We rented a canoe and paddled 7 miles along a narrow river surrounded with lush vegetation and overhanging trees that required us to duck on many occassions. At one point we paddled by an alligator that growled at us! Well, yesterday we arrived in Miami Beach! We spent the entire day walking along the beach and exploring the area. The ocean is absolutely beautiful here. Today we plan to visit the Florida Everglades. When I return from my trip I'll post lots of photos and I'll even have a giveaway. Stay tuned!
