Three New Bags

This week I planned on working in my studio everyday but it turned into a day and a half. I still managed to create three new bags that are now available at the Pesky Cat Designs shop. Most days I begin working in the studio around 10AM and end 5PM. I am very strict about not working past 5PM but my start time can vary. I often have distractions, like lunches and walks for exercise. This week I had a few extra distractions, most of them pleasant so I can't complain. Next week I plan to sew sew sew! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead.

Pure Linen

I jus t added two new bags to the Pesky Cat Designs shop made from pure linen. This linen has a slightly slubby weave and is just gorgeous. It even smells heavenly! The purse above is adorned with two engraved wood buttons. I love the natural linen and wood combination. I still have a few yards of this fantastic textile in stock so more bags are on the way!

This Week in the Studio

I just added a few new purses to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. The purse shown above is made from an upholstery weight linen in a gray basket weave. It's adorned with an ultrasuede flower applique and a floral engraved coconut button. I should have a couple of more purses to add to the shop this Thursday. I am mostly working with linen and cotton textiles right now. The shop now carries a variety of bags with and without appliques in neutral shades and bold colors. There should be a little something for everyone. All my new bags have two or more pockets and a key clip to keep things organized. I am also experimenting with zippers and other ways to make my bags more functional. A new design is in the works as well!

What's New

These days Anni prefers the view outside the window to the view into the Pesky Cat Designs studio. When I first starting sewing on a regular basis she was very fascinated by the movement of thread on my sewing machine. Often she would be so bothersome I could not work. That's how the name of my shop evolved. These days she is very bored of the machine since it's become such a routine. Now squirrels climbing trees and other outdoor events seem much more interesting. While she was busy at the window I sewed up two new purses and added them to the shop . Both of them are made from a linen-look upholstery fabric in chocolate brown and are fully lined a cool retro-look owl print cotton fabric. Tomorrow I will be adding a couple more new bags in the shop. Stay tuned! The Jewel Cut Purse in a Chocolate Brown Basket Weave Inside the Jewel Cut Purse

Shades of Spring

If you are wondering why there aren't any appliques on my new purses, I decided to create a few without. This week I worked on bags in linen and cotton in gorgeous springtime shades and lined them with pretty interior cotton print fabric. The Jewel Cut Purse above is made from a upholstery weight basket weave linen in deep pink and lined with a cherry blossom print cotton fabric. There are two interior pockets and a key clip to keep things organized. Pictured below is my Wayfarer Purse in a cornflower blue basket weave cotton. The interior is lined with the cutest owl print cotton fabric. In the next hour or so I'll be adding four new bags to the shop . Next week I'll have more warm weather inspired creations so stay tuned!
