Fall Preview: The Harris Tweed Foldover Clutch

Introducing the Harris Tweed Foldover Clutch , now available in the shop ! Made from exclusive Harris Tweed wool which was imported from the Isle of Harris, Scotland. Harris Tweed is a luxury cloth hand-woven by the islanders in their  homes on the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, using local wool. Each of these clutches has an authentic Harris Tweed label sewn onto the back. I'll have more of these purses available as autumn approaches.

A Batch of Clutches

Just added a batch of Foldover Clutches to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. There's a medley to select from that includes faux suede with bird appliques, hand-woven Ikats imported from India and Guatemala, designer prints by Iman, stripes and a navajo southwestern design.  Above is a pic of my Harris Tweed sample collection. It's great to have the actual tweed to feel and see before purchasing. I still have a nice selection of tweed in my stash and plan on experimenting today with some ideas that I have for the Fall Collection. I realize summer has only begun here but there are only a few months to work out ideas before autumn arrives!

A Mini Vacation

This past week I was on a mini vacation sight seeing around town with a friend that was visiting. We strolled downtown, spent days on the beach and had meals seaside. I had a wonderful time! In between all the sight seeing I found time to cut out a few new items and they are waiting in my studio to be transformed into purses and clutches. The two beautiful prints on the right are from Iman's collection of textiles and the Ikat on the left was hand-woven in India and is just gorgeous in different tones of blue. Also, a shipment of lovely faux suede arrived in chestnut brown, mustard yellow, deep ocean blue, fuchsia, taupe and lemon butter that I can not wait to start working with. All this activity had Anni quite tired so she decided to spend most of her time napping. Full production in the studio is about to begin so I might have to wake up my little assistant. Usually some thread dangling from a spool does the trick.

June

Earlier in the month I participated in the Every Woman's Arts and Crafts Festival that took place at the St. Augustine Beach Pavilion. I meet a lot of wonderful people and had a great time.  Yesterday the shop was updated with new clutches, wristlets and bags. It's been a busy month so far filled with lots of different projects and events. I think it's time to take a little break this week and just enjoy the sun and surf. Wishing you all a great week ahead!
