Below shows back of suit.  Closet door painted by me as a teenager around 1980. Music and art has always been a big part of my life. In the past year I have added a music-inspired collection of bags to my shop. The appliques are hand-cut and then machine stitched to the bag. No two bags are ever exactly alike. One-of-a-kind and all handmade by me in my studio from start to finish. See the entire collection here.

October this year was Pesky Cat Designs 10 year Anniversary! Although I've had an outside job for all those years I always made time for my creative endeavors. I have a Bachelor of Science degree but did originally attend an university of the arts. I painted for many years and then later discovered my love for creating handbags. This month I had two sales from a customer that has purchased 18 handbags from my shop! It really made my day to realize I have so many loyal customers. They have made it possible for me to keep creating and doing what gives me so much joy!

Had to say goodbye to my sweet Anni this past Tuesday. She had been sick for several weeks and after my Vet confirmed that she would not get better only worse, I decided I could not let her suffer. So at around 2 pm she traveled to the rainbow bridge. She had been my buddy for more than 15 years.  NYC 2007 When I first started sewing she would often sit right next to the sewing machine occasionally swatting at the lose thread at the end of my fabric. My partner walked by one day and said " Are you being a pesky little cat Anni?" That stayed in my mind so when it was time to name the shop, "Pesky Cat Designs" seemed perfect. She was actually far from pesky, with such a sweet and gentle demeanor.  Florida 2014 I will never forget my little sweetie. She will be in my heart forever.

S ome of you may have noticed that production at the Pesky Cat Designs shop has slowed down this year. I've taken on several outside commitments/jobs that leave me a limited amount of time to work in my studio. I plan to spend the limited time I have this year working more on one-of-a-kind purses using my most popular applique designs.  I'll be posting new purses to my Facebook   page as they become available in my shop. Stay tuned and be well!
