My purses and bags made with Liberty of London fabric have been selling quickly. I will be working to restock as quickly as I can for the holiday gift-giving season. But keep in mind I have a limited amount of this wonderful fabric in stock so if you see something you like grab it.

I'm excited to introduce a new line of clutches to the shop made from gorgeous Liberty of London fabric. I've had my eye on this iconic fabric for quite some time. It's even more beautiful in person and looks as if someone painted directly on the fabric. The colors and details are amazing. A batch of new foldover clutches were just added to the Pesky Cat Designs shop . All US orders placed on or before December 18th should arrive in ti me for Christmas and will ship via Priority Mail with online tracking and delivery confirmation. Packages typically arrive in 3 days.  Above is a new foldover clutch made with an ikat cloth that was hand-woven in India. I've got about a yard of this gorgeous textile in stock right now.  I've kept my Christmas decorating simple this year with just a wreath and bow. At the top of the wreath is a lovely handmade cross-stitch ornament that was made by my sweet friend Adriadne from Greece . The wooden star candle holder was a gift from another dear friend many years ago. Wishing everyone a restful and wonderful weekend!

The weather here has been in the low 70's with sunny blue skies and temperatures dipping into the low 50's in the evenings. People are out and about, flying kites and enjoying walks on the beach. Foldover Clutch in Organic Cotton  This organic cotton print of birds against a blue sky is the latest textile available in my studio. A foldover clutch made with this whimsical print was added to the shop  today. This photo was taken a while back when the weather was warmer. Right now it's a bit chilly for swimming but I've been enjoying outdoor trips with a sweater and a pumpkin spice flavored coffee in tow.

The newest design in the shop for Fall 2012 is the Harris Tweed Foldover Clutch. It's available in a variety of check and plain weaves. A selection of tweed sits in the studio waiting to be transformed into purses.   These clutches are a perfect fall accessory and will also be available adorned with applique designs. Stay tuned!

Ikat, pronounced 'ee-kaht', is a word of Indonesian origin which refers to fabric that is patterned by binding the warp threads to resist dye before the fabric is hand-woven on the loom.  The resulting motif has a "blurred" appearance that comes from the slight bleeding of the dyes into the resist areas.  The ikat design is created by tying areas of the threads into bundles with wax, grasses or even plastic to prevent penetration of the dye in those areas. The weaver has to figure out where on the loose threads the dye should penetrate in order to create the desired pattern when it is woven.  I kat is one of the oldest forms of textile design and is a universal weaving style common to many world cultures. At the moment I have clutches and purses available in the shop made from ikat that was  hand-woven in India.  Come peruse them all at the Pesky Cat Designs shop.

Just added three new Wayfarer Purses to the Pesky Cat Designs shop . Two in buttery soft faux suede and one in corduroy. Yesterday morning I took this photo of the studio. I always tidy up the work space in the evening so in the morning everything is organized and ready to go. It's not always this tidy midday.  Earlier in the week my Foldover Clutch was featured on Refinery 29 !  Thanks to the feature the shop received a lot of traffic and two of these clutches have sold.  Plan to add another one very soon. Last week was spent experimenting on new designs and techniques. Had fun creating a fringe and feather clutch. This one will be a gift for a friend. Added a few large wristlets to the shop with bird  and oak leaf appliques. Also added a medium sized two-toned faux suede shoulder bag with a handmade bird applique. And here's what my studio looks like this morning. There's a couple of hand-woven ikat and recycled leather clutches to be photographed and added to the shop. More corduroy purses in progress in khaki and olive green and a beautiful butterfly print canvas waiting to be transformed into a tote bag. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead. Enjoy!

Just added a few items to the Pesky Cat Designs shop . First, a custom order Hobo Bag with an oak leaf applique. It's made from a buttery soft faux suede in chestnut brown. Next, a Foldover Clutch made from a beautiful cotton floral home decor print with a faux suede bottom. Corduroy has returned to the shop! Olive green corduroy Wayfarer Purse adorned with a bird applique.   A tangerine corduroy Wayfarer Purse is also available. This one is sure to brighten up all your outfits. New clutches and wristlets were added to the shop today.  This is a shoot of what the studio looked like yesterday morning. The blue and white birds in flight print and the ikat print are textiles designed by supermodel Iman. She's got a great line of fabrics out. They're whimsical and sophisticated.  Last week I added a few more purses with bird appliques, a Foldover Clutch  with a handmade bird applique, and a Foldover Clutch in stripes and natural jute with vintage vegetable ivory buttons.  Did I mention that I really love creating handbags? Well I do and I can't wait to get started on the next batch. Stay tuned!

New Foldover Clutches have been added to the Pesky Cat Designs shop today. The group above is made from upholstery grade faux suede and paired with whimsical designer prints. Top left is a cotton print which is part of the Modern Glamour Collection by Iman, the noted supermodel and philanthropist. The other two prints are from designer Annie Selke's "Blue Marine" Collection.  Two more clutches made from a cotton Ikat hand-woven in India were added to shop. I still have enough of this wonderful textile to make a few more. A clutch made with a colorful southwestern-style woven cotton paired with a vibrant teal faux suede was also added. All these clutches are now available in my shop !

The Foldover Clutch Introducing a new design, the foldover clutch, now available at the Pesky Cat Designs shop . It's a fun and stylish way for you to carry your essentials.   Southwestern-inspired Messenger I also added a few more southwestern-inspired bags made from faux suede and adorned with handcut feather appliques and cool woven trim. Faux suede is my favorite textile to work with right now. I'm expecting another shipment today. These days I do most of my textile shopping online, spending hours perusing upholstery sites, ordering samples and waiting patiently for them to arrive.
