Build Your Own Purse

I've been working on creating a listing in my shop that will allow my customer to "build" their own purse. I am playing around with a lot of different ideas at the moment. The listing will include a choice of exterior fabric in several colors with a selection of coordinating cotton print fabric to choose for the interior of the purse. There will be a selection of my applique designs to choose from such as cherry blossoms, a bird on a branch, seahorses and more. I think my custom listing will be a great addition to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. If you have any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear from you. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

A great idea - I love the colours, it is tough to choose, they all go so well together. Is there a chance of applique in any other colour? Good luck with the orders!

With play fabrics , i like much !
Thanks everyone for your comments! They are very appreciated. :)

Damjana- At the moment I am only offering the cream colored applique. It works well with all the fabric choices and it is my best seller. I plan to introduce other colors in the future. Thanks for your suggestion.

The Pesky Cat's Day Dream

Katzenhohle by Dornroeschen Filzunikate I recently came across this incredible cat bed made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. This beautiful piece of functional art called a Katzenhohle , cat cave, is handmade of felted wool. It's definitely the most unique cat bed I have ever seen. It would bring a bit of nature into my urban NYC home. I think my Anni would love a cat cave although her favorite spots right now are the pillow behind my head in bed, a straw basket that was meant to store magazines and a storage box made from fabric that becomes a hammock when she sleeps in it. My sweet Anni FOX 5 Update : A while back I wrote a post about a story that Fox 5 news was doing on Etsy and the handmade market. I was interviewed in my studio as part of the feature. An Etsy press agent recently informed me that the story aired April 15th and he also missed it. He said he is trying to get a copy of it from the studio. I'll be sure to post a link to it when it becomes availab...

Another Studio Location Coming Soon!

P esky Cat Designs will soon have another workshop location. Starting August 1st I'll be working from my studio located in St. Augustine Florida! Those who have been following my blog know that I've made many trips to the area in the past few years. I'm excited with the prospect of being able to work from a new place that will bring me new inspirations and ideas. My studio will be located within close proximity to several craft and green markets. If all goes as planned I hope to be able to sell my handbags at one of these markets as well as continue selling via my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted with everything. Right now there is a lot of planning going on so I am not able to work on new handbags as much as I want to. As soon as all gets settled expect to see many new creations in the shop!
