Blog Awards and Honors

Last week I got an email from Gina @ A Bit of Whimsy, letting me know that she has given me the One Lovely Blog Award! Thank you Gina! I am truly honored to receive this award from such a lovely person. You really must check out her blog, A Bit of Whimsy and her Etsy shop Indigo Rain. Her blog is filled with such inspirational thoughts and photos. I look forward to each post. Her shop is filled with magical photos and whimsical paintings. I can not say enough good things about Gina, her blog and all her artistic endeavors.

The rules of the blog award are:

1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered.

I hereby award the following blogs the One Lovely Blog Award! ( In alphabetically order)

Another honor posted below!

This past week I also received an email from Feyza of IkaBags letting me know she created a new handbag called Elisa!  That's my name! I was so surprised and honored. Feyza is such a sweet and lovely person and she makes beautiful bags. You must check out her blog and her lovely Etsy shops, IkaBags and Madame Houx. Her bags are sewn so beautifully and have surprise embroidery inside the linings! You must check them out.

I feel very lucky to have meet so many wonderful people through Etsy!

New Harris Tweed Patchwork

Just added a couple of one-of-a-kind Harris Tweed patchwork bags to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. It will be the perfect bag to pair up with your favorite fall or winter coat and add a pop of color to your day.
To create the flap I cut out squares of Harris Tweed wool and interface each piece. Then I play around arranging the different colors and patterns. That's the most fun part. When I am satisfied with the result I begin to sew them together. And that is how the patchwork flap evolves.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead. Enjoy!

Anni in the Garden

The Rainbow Bridge

Had to say goodbye to my sweet Anni this past Tuesday. She had been sick for several weeks and after my Vet confirmed that she would not get better only worse, I decided I could not let her suffer. So at around 2 pm she traveled to the rainbow bridge. She had been my buddy for more than 15 years.

NYC 2007
When I first started sewing she would often sit right next to the sewing machine occasionally swatting at the lose thread at the end of my fabric. My partner walked by one day and said " Are you being a pesky little cat Anni?" That stayed in my mind so when it was time to name the shop, "Pesky Cat Designs" seemed perfect. She was actually far from pesky, with such a sweet and gentle demeanor.

I will never forget my little sweetie. She will be in my heart forever.
