Blushing Birds and New Purse Designs

Yesterday I found myself in front of the computer just as a treasury was opening up. I already had my selections ready in postersketch so all I had to to is copy and paste. Blushing Birds, was inspired by GollyBard's gorgeous watercolor painting of two cardinals. There are so many lovely shops on Etsy. Every time I curate a treasury my search for new items leads me to many more gorgeous discoveries.

On another note, this past week it's been a little quiet at the Pesky Cat Designs studio. I've been busy with lots of outside activities so my trusty Juki and I have gotten a little rest. This week I hope to finish up drafting a new purse design that I will be introducing to the shop very soon. First a pattern is drafted onto paper, fabric cut and a new purse sewn up. If I like the final piece I'll trace my pattern onto sturdier paper stock. Creating a new design is always challenging and exciting. I'll keep you posted on my progress so stay tuned. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

I'm so excited to see what's coming up. I don't know if I can wait to find out...just give us a small hint. Please! I just know it's going to be great!

great treasury. I love your machine it looks like a simple work horse. they are the best
PretaPawte- Yes, I love my machine. It only sews a straight stitch, that's it, but it will sew through the thickest fabric without missing a beat or breaking a needle. Semi-industrial rocks!

The Button Chick- OK, here's a hint. It will be large enough to fit a 13" laptop and it's design is inspired by a bag that some professionals carry.

Esme- Thanks for your comment. :)
Can't wait to see the purse design! Very exciting!
Beautiful treasury. Can not wait to see your new design.
I so wish I had more creative and talented bones in my body! Those cardinals are just fabulous!

Build Your Own Purse

I've been working on creating a listing in my shop that will allow my customer to "build" their own purse. I am playing around with a lot of different ideas at the moment. The listing will include a choice of exterior fabric in several colors with a selection of coordinating cotton print fabric to choose for the interior of the purse. There will be a selection of my applique designs to choose from such as cherry blossoms, a bird on a branch, seahorses and more. I think my custom listing will be a great addition to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. If you have any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear from you. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

That's me in Miami Beach, Florida! I 'm back from a fantastic road trip around the South East, USA!  My partner and I started in NYC and went south on Interstate 95  down to Miami Beach, Florida . To enter the giveaway all you need to do is follow my blog and post a comment about your favorite vacation at the end of this post.  That's it! I'll pick one winner at random (I will use random.org) this coming Monday. Home Sweet Home

After spending several months on a job assignment that took me away from my studio, I'm finally back in St. Augustine, FL. I worked with a wonderful group of folks and enjoyed my stay in Tarrytown, NY which is about 40 minutes by train into NYC.  I'm eager to get back to designing and creating and have lots of new ideas I can't wait to get started on.  Above is a shot of Millie, a wonderful coworker back in New York, modeling the Harris Tweed Patchwork Satchel . Wish I had her here for my next photo shoot!
