The Tree Hugger

I just had to post this photo of Anni on one of her supervised outings. She only goes out with us following closely behind since we live near a busy street. She is so happy to get to walk through a small patch of grass and watch butterflies and birds. Posted above is Anni hugging a "tree". It's actually a telephone pole but she doesn't know it. Compared to living in NYC this is paradise for her!

Too cute! I love that she just follows you on outings too. PS.. I had to laugh that I 'motivate' you to work. It's not your fault that I'm a total neurotic who doesn't know how to relax. xx

I wonder how you got so good. Ha-ha! This is really a fascinating blog, lots of stuff that I can get into. One thing I just want to say is that your design is so perfect! You certainly know how to get a girls attention! I’m glad that your here. I feel like I’ve learned something new by being here.

It's so nice to hear of responsible cat owners only letting their cats out supervised. Good on you, and great designs!

The Pesky Cat's Day Dream

Katzenhohle by Dornroeschen Filzunikate I recently came across this incredible cat bed made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. This beautiful piece of functional art called a Katzenhohle , cat cave, is handmade of felted wool. It's definitely the most unique cat bed I have ever seen. It would bring a bit of nature into my urban NYC home. I think my Anni would love a cat cave although her favorite spots right now are the pillow behind my head in bed, a straw basket that was meant to store magazines and a storage box made from fabric that becomes a hammock when she sleeps in it. My sweet Anni FOX 5 Update : A while back I wrote a post about a story that Fox 5 news was doing on Etsy and the handmade market. I was interviewed in my studio as part of the feature. An Etsy press agent recently informed me that the story aired April 15th and he also missed it. He said he is trying to get a copy of it from the studio. I'll be sure to post a link to it when it becomes availab...

Another Studio Location Coming Soon!

P esky Cat Designs will soon have another workshop location. Starting August 1st I'll be working from my studio located in St. Augustine Florida! Those who have been following my blog know that I've made many trips to the area in the past few years. I'm excited with the prospect of being able to work from a new place that will bring me new inspirations and ideas. My studio will be located within close proximity to several craft and green markets. If all goes as planned I hope to be able to sell my handbags at one of these markets as well as continue selling via my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted with everything. Right now there is a lot of planning going on so I am not able to work on new handbags as much as I want to. As soon as all gets settled expect to see many new creations in the shop!
