Monday Morning

It's Monday and I have a busy day ahead of me. I need to finish up a custom order Wayfarer Purse and have it ready for shipping this afternoon. The Offbeat Messenger Bag posted above is a custom order I created for a lovely repeat customer and it also needs to be shipped today. I recently posted on the main page of my Etsy shop that I now take custom orders and have got quite a few requests via Etsy and outside sources. Later on today I plan to make a trip to my local fabric shop to purchase some much needed supplies and some new fabric that I can use for my applique work. So I'm off now and wishing everyone a wonderful day!

I'm so happy to hear you are so busy with work. I guess Etsy is a great resource for designers to find consumers? I love Etsy but I always wondered how it worked out for the other side. Of course, your bags are ss great that a little advertising and you would definitely get orders!
I'm dreaming of the cooler, fall weather and which bag of yours I would like to see on my arm! I love bags, of course, but especially more unique ones I won't see on every arm I pass!

Have a wonderful day and happy creating!
Beautiful purse! Custom orders are great!! I LOVE etsy for that reason. I made TONS of custom orders over the holidays last year.

I love the look of that EtsyMini on the right. So cohesive! One of the important steps toward becoming a featured seller, I think!

The Rainbow Bridge

Had to say goodbye to my sweet Anni this past Tuesday. She had been sick for several weeks and after my Vet confirmed that she would not get better only worse, I decided I could not let her suffer. So at around 2 pm she traveled to the rainbow bridge. She had been my buddy for more than 15 years.

NYC 2007
When I first started sewing she would often sit right next to the sewing machine occasionally swatting at the lose thread at the end of my fabric. My partner walked by one day and said " Are you being a pesky little cat Anni?" That stayed in my mind so when it was time to name the shop, "Pesky Cat Designs" seemed perfect. She was actually far from pesky, with such a sweet and gentle demeanor.

I will never forget my little sweetie. She will be in my heart forever.

New Harris Tweed Patchwork

Just added a couple of one-of-a-kind Harris Tweed patchwork bags to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. It will be the perfect bag to pair up with your favorite fall or winter coat and add a pop of color to your day.
To create the flap I cut out squares of Harris Tweed wool and interface each piece. Then I play around arranging the different colors and patterns. That's the most fun part. When I am satisfied with the result I begin to sew them together. And that is how the patchwork flap evolves.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead. Enjoy!
