The Pesky Cat Designs shop is having a weekend holiday sale! To claim your discount use  the code "HOLIDAYS" during Etsy checkout for 10% OFF everything in the shop from now until midnight Cyber Monday, 11/29/10.

Shop update: I'll be adding a couple of Satchels, including the one posted above,  to the shop in the next hour or so. More Satchels coming soon!

Below is a shoot of Anni this morning. She spent the past 8 years in a NYC apartment on the 10th floor. She was never fond of the front door since it only lead to a hallway with two noisy elevators. Since we moved to Florida the front door is her best friend. It leads to a patch of grass that she loves to eat, butterflies, little lizards, birds, squirrels and lots more!

Our kitties think that the Door To Outside leads to another room full of Awesomeness and we're just evil for not letting them out.
Pretty Things- I don't blame you. They are much safer that way. Anni only goes out with our supervision. We keep our eye on her the entire time. Mainly she likes to eat the grass. IN NYC she always had a pot of wheat grass from the farmers market. In any case, sounds like you are a very good kitty mom!

The Pesky Cat's Day Dream

Katzenhohle by Dornroeschen Filzunikate I recently came across this incredible cat bed made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. This beautiful piece of functional art called a Katzenhohle , cat cave, is handmade of felted wool. It's definitely the most unique cat bed I have ever seen. It would bring a bit of nature into my urban NYC home. I think my Anni would love a cat cave although her favorite spots right now are the pillow behind my head in bed, a straw basket that was meant to store magazines and a storage box made from fabric that becomes a hammock when she sleeps in it. My sweet Anni FOX 5 Update : A while back I wrote a post about a story that Fox 5 news was doing on Etsy and the handmade market. I was interviewed in my studio as part of the feature. An Etsy press agent recently informed me that the story aired April 15th and he also missed it. He said he is trying to get a copy of it from the studio. I'll be sure to post a link to it when it becomes availab...

Another Studio Location Coming Soon!

P esky Cat Designs will soon have another workshop location. Starting August 1st I'll be working from my studio located in St. Augustine Florida! Those who have been following my blog know that I've made many trips to the area in the past few years. I'm excited with the prospect of being able to work from a new place that will bring me new inspirations and ideas. My studio will be located within close proximity to several craft and green markets. If all goes as planned I hope to be able to sell my handbags at one of these markets as well as continue selling via my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted with everything. Right now there is a lot of planning going on so I am not able to work on new handbags as much as I want to. As soon as all gets settled expect to see many new creations in the shop!
