100 Bags - I Did It!

Yesterday I added 6 wristlets to the Pesky Cat Designs shop and completed the Holiday Boot Camp Challenge! The challenge began on October 2nd and was to have 100 items in my shop by December 1st. At that time I had 40 items in the shop so I needed to complete 60 more. Thanks again Damjana of Loddelina bags for coming up with this great idea to motivate ourselves to work hard. It was my pleasure being you holiday boot camp buddy!
And this morning Etsy celebrated the news by featuring my work on their front page. Just kidding about Etsy celebrating, but I was on the front page!

Yeeeeeeeeees, you did it!

Congratulations, you are a star! I'm sorry I dropped out of the race at the last refreshment stop, sort of, but I'm happy that you made it!

And congratulations on that Front Page feature, your shop is the talk of the town!
I love your new wristlets, I wonder if those owls are washable, they look so yummy and I would hate to think they don't last beyond a few tiny chocolate fingerprints...
Loddelina- Thank you!
I hope the drinks at the refreshment stop were tasty. hehehe You are so funny! And chocolate hands are not permitted near my owl wristlets. But you can wash them. ;)

The Pesky Cat's Day Dream

Katzenhohle by Dornroeschen Filzunikate I recently came across this incredible cat bed made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. This beautiful piece of functional art called a Katzenhohle , cat cave, is handmade of felted wool. It's definitely the most unique cat bed I have ever seen. It would bring a bit of nature into my urban NYC home. I think my Anni would love a cat cave although her favorite spots right now are the pillow behind my head in bed, a straw basket that was meant to store magazines and a storage box made from fabric that becomes a hammock when she sleeps in it. My sweet Anni FOX 5 Update : A while back I wrote a post about a story that Fox 5 news was doing on Etsy and the handmade market. I was interviewed in my studio as part of the feature. An Etsy press agent recently informed me that the story aired April 15th and he also missed it. He said he is trying to get a copy of it from the studio. I'll be sure to post a link to it when it becomes availab...

Another Studio Location Coming Soon!

P esky Cat Designs will soon have another workshop location. Starting August 1st I'll be working from my studio located in St. Augustine Florida! Those who have been following my blog know that I've made many trips to the area in the past few years. I'm excited with the prospect of being able to work from a new place that will bring me new inspirations and ideas. My studio will be located within close proximity to several craft and green markets. If all goes as planned I hope to be able to sell my handbags at one of these markets as well as continue selling via my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted with everything. Right now there is a lot of planning going on so I am not able to work on new handbags as much as I want to. As soon as all gets settled expect to see many new creations in the shop!
