Whimsical Prints and More

I 've been working on a new collection of purses made from whimsical prints. The Wayfarer Purse above is made from a cool retro-look owl print in cotton canvas. The purse below is made from a gorgeous Annie Selke blue and cream print in linen and rayon. Both of these purses are now available at the Pesky Cat Designs shop. I also added a few new Jewel Cut Purses in Harris Tweed and one in corduroy. And if you like messengers, there's a new Everyday Messenger in Brown with a sweet flower applique. More to follow!

St. Augustine Update

St. Augustine Lighthouse via I still do not have access to my own computer and apologize for not being able to post pics of my new studio and home in St. Augustine, Florida. The internet provider here did not have our address in their data base so things are taking a long time. I expect to be up and running next week. Thanks for all your wonderful comments and for all your support. It has meant so much to me especially at this time. We are riding our bicycles everywhere in this bike-friendly town, even along the beach! See RideThisBike for a link to a video of someone pedaling along the shore. I've been working on new handbags and should have those listed in my shop next week. I'll be adding a batch of new Harris Tweed and corduroy bags. I'm also working on a new collection of bags created in lighter textiles. I recently purchased some gorgeous fabric by Annie Selke in tones inspired by the sea and sand. Stay tuned!

A Crazy Week

Last week we had several things delay our move to St. Augustine, Florida but now we are finally moved into our new place. I now have a huge studio space devoted just for Pesky Cat Designs. Our sweet kitty Anni was overwhelmed at first but now she enjoys climbing up and down the stairs of our home, something that she's never done since she's spent her entire life living in a one bedroom apartment. I apologize for the delay in reopening the shop and for not being able to keep up with all your lovely blogs. At the moment we are still without internet service but hope to have everything up and running asap. I look forward to visiting all your blogs once my life is a little less hectic. See you soon!

Anni, our sweet kitty is a little bit stressed with all changes but I am sure she will love her new home. My next post here will be from beautiful St. Augustine, Florida. See you then!

A Storque Feature: Etsy Labs at South Street Seaport

(Click here to see what time 5PM ET is in your hometown.) Thanks Etsy for featuring my Offbeat Messenger Bag with a seahorse applique among your cool nautical finds in your Storque feature. Things Are Looking Up

S lowly but surely we are getting ready for our move to St. Augustine, Fl. I've already purchased new fabrics inspired by the impending move. Blue and white prints, various stripes and ticking, linen and jute webbing. In the past few weeks I've sold a lot of bags to friends and coworkers so I will need to replenish my Etsy shop as soon as I can. The shop will be closed for a week or so during our move. Once the new studio is in place I'll begin production of a new collection. Can't wait!

Another Studio Location Coming Soon!

P esky Cat Designs will soon have another workshop location. Starting August 1st I'll be working from my studio located in St. Augustine Florida! Those who have been following my blog know that I've made many trips to the area in the past few years. I'm excited with the prospect of being able to work from a new place that will bring me new inspirations and ideas. My studio will be located within close proximity to several craft and green markets. If all goes as planned I hope to be able to sell my handbags at one of these markets as well as continue selling via my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted with everything. Right now there is a lot of planning going on so I am not able to work on new handbags as much as I want to. As soon as all gets settled expect to see many new creations in the shop!
