A New Design

I've completed a new design for the new year. It's a messenger style bag with a rounded flap and an adjustable strap. The one above is made from a very thick 6 wale cotton corduroy in a rich steel grey. It will be available in my shop today for a special introductory price since it's my first sample. It's 11" tall, 10.5" wide, 2.5" deep and has two interior pockets. The strap length is adjustable from 29.5" to 48.5" so you can wear it as a shoulder bag or across the body messenger style! I still plan to make a few minor adjustments to the design such as making it a bit deeper. Also, I plan to make some without the adjustable strap depending on the fabric used. I have to admit it was difficult sewing the adjustable strap using the thick 6 wale corduroy.
Right now in the studio I've got some semi-circle purses , a messenger and a wayfarer purse all being made from corduroy in progress. I'll post a sneak preview before they become available in my shop. Hope everyone is having a good new year!

I may have to save up for a bag like this. I really like them but definitely carry my books everywhere. Keep Smiling!

Souvenirs from a Road Trip Giveaway!

That's me in Miami Beach, Florida!

I'm back from a fantastic road trip around the South East, USA!  My partner and I started in NYC and went south on Interstate 95 down to Miami Beach, Florida. We made many stops along the way to amble about and see the sites. In honor of this wonderful trip I decided to have a Giveaway! The Giveaway will be my Saddle Bag, pictured to your left, filled with a few souvenirs ( a surprise!) from my trip. To enter the giveaway all you need to do is follow my blog and post a comment about your favorite vacation at the end of this post.  That's it! I'll pick one winner at random (I will use random.org) this coming Monday. Good luck!

Home Sweet Home

After spending several months on a job assignment that took me away from my studio, I'm finally back in St. Augustine, FL. I worked with a wonderful group of folks and enjoyed my stay in Tarrytown, NY which is about 40 minutes by train into NYC.
I'm eager to get back to designing and creating and have lots of new ideas I can't wait to get started on.

Above is a shot of Millie, a wonderful coworker back in New York, modeling the Harris Tweed Patchwork Satchel. Wish I had her here for my next photo shoot!

Time

My work pictured on the left has taken time away from my work on the right. Spending free time these days with friends and walks on the beach.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
