New Textiles in the Studio

New textiles for my spring/summer collection are now in stock at the Pesky Cat Designs studio. Thick 100% linen basket weave, cotton/linen fabric and heavy upholstery weight basket weave cotton. See swatches below for a few examples. I also purchased some new cotton print textiles that I use for the interior of my bags. I could not resist the quirky owl print shown above. There are a few bags already available in my shop made from 100% linen and more are coming. I'm working on several messenger bags at the moment and hope to have them in my shop either this week or next.
I will also keep you posted on the FOX 5 news story!

Clockwise from top left:
Cotton basket weave in cornflower blue
100% linen basket weave in deep pink
100% linen basket weave in gray

I love the owl print, it looks a bit ethnic-Slavic, don't you think?
I can't wait to see the bag you line it with!

Home Sweet Home

After spending several months on a job assignment that took me away from my studio, I'm finally back in St. Augustine, FL. I worked with a wonderful group of folks and enjoyed my stay in Tarrytown, NY which is about 40 minutes by train into NYC.
I'm eager to get back to designing and creating and have lots of new ideas I can't wait to get started on.

Above is a shot of Millie, a wonderful coworker back in New York, modeling the Harris Tweed Patchwork Satchel. Wish I had her here for my next photo shoot!

Time

My work pictured on the left has taken time away from my work on the right. Spending free time these days with friends and walks on the beach.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

My first name is spelled wrong and my head is turned to the side because the producer asked me a question just as the security guard was taking the photo. I was allowed in the building with my profile shot so all was well.

The CBS feature was broadcast nationally today. I was not at home and only had access to a small portable black and white TV with so so reception. Yes, rabbit ears. In the opening shot, CBS Sunday Morning News anchor Charles Osgood points to my handbags for about a second. he he  But I am still honored that they chose my bags from the th…
