Photo Shoot among the Beach Grass

Today was a perfect day for a photo shoot by the sea. Shown above is my revised Semi-Circle Purse with an adjustable shoulder strap so you can wear it on the shoulder or messenger style.

Modeled above is my latest Harris Tweed Patchwork Satchel. Two of these will be available in my shop tonight.

And last but not least, here is my newest design, The Carryall. It looks great worn on the shoulder or cross body. It's quite roomy so you can bring along all your essentials. Perfect for watching pelicans diving for fish or a walk downtown.

Hi! I'm so sorry I've been away from here for so long! You and Anni have been in my thoughts for quite a while and I've been wondering how you're both doing. This blog looks terrific, love the new header & design! You look wonderful in these posts- both your hair and your bags are "to-die-for"! And the photo setting's not too shabby either :o)

I'm seriously drooling over your bags. One day - sooner rather than later - I plan to be sporting one on my arm!

How's Anni dealing with Florida? Pets from me to her and Meows from the feline crazies here. Magoo seemed to like her pic a lot! (seriously!)

The Pesky Cat's Day Dream

Katzenhohle by Dornroeschen Filzunikate I recently came across this incredible cat bed made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. This beautiful piece of functional art called a Katzenhohle , cat cave, is handmade of felted wool. It's definitely the most unique cat bed I have ever seen. It would bring a bit of nature into my urban NYC home. I think my Anni would love a cat cave although her favorite spots right now are the pillow behind my head in bed, a straw basket that was meant to store magazines and a storage box made from fabric that becomes a hammock when she sleeps in it. My sweet Anni FOX 5 Update : A while back I wrote a post about a story that Fox 5 news was doing on Etsy and the handmade market. I was interviewed in my studio as part of the feature. An Etsy press agent recently informed me that the story aired April 15th and he also missed it. He said he is trying to get a copy of it from the studio. I'll be sure to post a link to it when it becomes availab...

Music Inspired

Pink Floyd   Bowie   Red Hot Chili Peppers  Hand-painted hazmat suit with images from Pink Floyd The Wall. This is still a work in progress. Plan to wear to a Halloween party this year. Below shows back of suit.  Closet door painted by me as a teenager around 1980. Music and art has always been a big part of my life. In the past year I have added a music-inspired collection of bags to my shop. The appliques are hand-cut and then machine stitched to the bag. No two bags are ever exactly alike. One-of-a-kind and all handmade by me in my studio from start to finish. See the entire collection here.
