Etsy Favorites

Posted below are some of my recent favorites available on Etsy. It was hard to decide on which to feature since I have so many!

I think the Bird Vase by JMRPottery would need to have a shelf all to its own! This beautiful bowl/vase is made out of redstone clay on a potter's wheel by Julie M. Rowe from North Carolina. I love the green glaze and the bird is just too sweet.

              Sea Urchin Ring by Staroftheeast

The Sea Urchin Ring by StarOfTheEast is absolutely gorgeous! I love things inspired by nature and especially by the sea.  StarOfTheEast is a lovely mother and daughter team, Esther and Estella, from Turkey. Their work is so unique and inspirational!

I always start my mornings with a cup of tea with lemon and sugar. The first thing I do when I wake up is walk straight to the kitchen and fire up the teapot. So when I saw this teapot charm by MDSparks on Etsy you can imagine how excited I was. Her shop is filled with unique and whimsical pieces!

The denim skirt by Trapperjane , a one women show from Victoria, B.C., Canada,  is inspiring me to take a bike trip out in the country. I love it's A-line design!  All her clothing looks so comfortable and flattering. They are also so beautifully photographed!

The Pesky Cat's Day Dream

Katzenhohle by Dornroeschen Filzunikate I recently came across this incredible cat bed made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. This beautiful piece of functional art called a Katzenhohle , cat cave, is handmade of felted wool. It's definitely the most unique cat bed I have ever seen. It would bring a bit of nature into my urban NYC home. I think my Anni would love a cat cave although her favorite spots right now are the pillow behind my head in bed, a straw basket that was meant to store magazines and a storage box made from fabric that becomes a hammock when she sleeps in it. My sweet Anni FOX 5 Update : A while back I wrote a post about a story that Fox 5 news was doing on Etsy and the handmade market. I was interviewed in my studio as part of the feature. An Etsy press agent recently informed me that the story aired April 15th and he also missed it. He said he is trying to get a copy of it from the studio. I'll be sure to post a link to it when it becomes availab...

Another Studio Location Coming Soon!

P esky Cat Designs will soon have another workshop location. Starting August 1st I'll be working from my studio located in St. Augustine Florida! Those who have been following my blog know that I've made many trips to the area in the past few years. I'm excited with the prospect of being able to work from a new place that will bring me new inspirations and ideas. My studio will be located within close proximity to several craft and green markets. If all goes as planned I hope to be able to sell my handbags at one of these markets as well as continue selling via my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted with everything. Right now there is a lot of planning going on so I am not able to work on new handbags as much as I want to. As soon as all gets settled expect to see many new creations in the shop!
