The Wayfarer Purse in Harris Tweed

I created a couple of new purses made from Harris Tweed wool and will be adding them to my shop this afternoon. The purse above is made from a barleycorn weave in blue, gray, brown/red and cream. I added a leafed branch applique in blue that coordinates beautifully with the tones in the purse. I purchased this luxury cloth at my local fabric shop in NYC and it was the most I ever spent on a textile. But I think it was worth every penny!

Oh, beautiful, the blue applique looks lovey against the tweed! I wonder if you've purchased any tartan - plaid wool - to go with this tweed, it is an amazing colour mix...

New Harris Tweed Purses

Harris Tweed Color Block Purse This week in the studio I did some experimenting combining various Harris Tweed weaves to create a purse. This purse is also a new design measuring at approximately 14" wide, 8.5" high and 2.5" deep. Roomy enough to fit your daily essentials with a stream-lined design to fit comfortably under your arm. Harris Tweed Color Block Purse The purse above is made from Harris Tweed wool in two plain weaves and a barleycorn weave. I love the contrasting colors and textures. Back view of purses above. Harris Tweed Two Tone Bag And last but not least, a basket/tote design, using a lovely blue Harris Tweed plain weave and a Macleod check. All these new bags are now available at the Pesky Cat Designs shop. Wishing everyone a great weekend ahead!
