New Bags in the Shop

                          The Wayfarer in Hemp

                              The Downtown Bag in Hemp

                              The Downtown Bag in Corduroy

Check out the new bags in the shop! The Wayfarer Purse is made from handwoven and hand dyed hemp and is perfect to take with you on all your journeys. I'm waiting for a shipment of a few more yards of this wonderful hemp to arrive. It has a linen-like weave and a beautiful natural raw quality.  I also used this lovely hemp fabric to make a two tone Downtown Bag.
I never worked with corduroy before so I recently purchased some in a couple of  yards to try out. It does have some similar qualities to velvet which I am familiar with although velvet is a lot more difficult to work with. Check out The Downtown Bag in olive green corduroy that is now available in my shop. More creations will be added to the shop very soon!

Home Sweet Home

After spending several months on a job assignment that took me away from my studio, I'm finally back in St. Augustine, FL. I worked with a wonderful group of folks and enjoyed my stay in Tarrytown, NY which is about 40 minutes by train into NYC.
I'm eager to get back to designing and creating and have lots of new ideas I can't wait to get started on.

Above is a shot of Millie, a wonderful coworker back in New York, modeling the Harris Tweed Patchwork Satchel. Wish I had her here for my next photo shoot!

Time

My work pictured on the left has taken time away from my work on the right. Spending free time these days with friends and walks on the beach.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

I was quite excited. I dropped off some of my handbags at the studio that day. Posted above is my security entrance card. My first name is spelled wrong and my head is turned to the side because the producer asked me a question just as the security guard was taking the photo. I was allowed in the building with my profile shot so all was well.

The CBS feature was broadcast nationally today. I was not at home and only had access to a small portable black and white TV with so so reception. Yes, rabbit ears. In the opening shot, CBS Sunday Morning News anchor Charles Osgood points to my handbags for about a second. he he  But I am still honored that they chose my bags from the th…
