Spring Flower Creations

Today I want to share with you some of my favorite sellers on Etsy and their spring inspired creations.

I just discovered Wired Designs on Etsy today while browsing through the gift guides. Dana of Wired Designs is from York, Pa., U.S.A., and began making jewelry several years ago, giving and selling mostly to friends and family members. Now she has a wonderful shop on Etsy filled with unique and beautiful hand-forged creations!

This handbag by Star of the East is just too amazing! Beautiful pink organza roses on a gorgeous taffeta field. What a beautiful bag to celebrate springtime with! Star of the East is a lovely mother and daughter team, Esther and Estella, from Turkey. They are amazing artists and their shop is filled with the most unique and beautiful items!

Become as beautiful as a rose garden if you wear this brooch! Meltemsem is an artist from Istanbul, Turkey, and her bio reads "The works I make reflect the delicate balance of modern arts with Anatolian motifs." I can see the new perfectly balanced with the past in her creations. Her work is absolutely breathtaking!

I love the free-flowing quality of Karen Faulkner's watercolor paintings! The piece above is an original watercolor and I love its delicate beauty. Karen is an artist from Pennsylvania, U.S.A., and she strives to make each painting unique, saying as much as she can in just a few brush strokes. Well, I think she manages to say quite a lot! Her work is just beautiful and fills me with peace and happiness.

The Pesky Cat's Day Dream

Katzenhohle by Dornroeschen Filzunikate I recently came across this incredible cat bed made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate. This beautiful piece of functional art called a Katzenhohle , cat cave, is handmade of felted wool. It's definitely the most unique cat bed I have ever seen. It would bring a bit of nature into my urban NYC home. I think my Anni would love a cat cave although her favorite spots right now are the pillow behind my head in bed, a straw basket that was meant to store magazines and a storage box made from fabric that becomes a hammock when she sleeps in it. My sweet Anni FOX 5 Update : A while back I wrote a post about a story that Fox 5 news was doing on Etsy and the handmade market. I was interviewed in my studio as part of the feature. An Etsy press agent recently informed me that the story aired April 15th and he also missed it. He said he is trying to get a copy of it from the studio. I'll be sure to post a link to it when it becomes availab...

Another Studio Location Coming Soon!

P esky Cat Designs will soon have another workshop location. Starting August 1st I'll be working from my studio located in St. Augustine Florida! Those who have been following my blog know that I've made many trips to the area in the past few years. I'm excited with the prospect of being able to work from a new place that will bring me new inspirations and ideas. My studio will be located within close proximity to several craft and green markets. If all goes as planned I hope to be able to sell my handbags at one of these markets as well as continue selling via my Etsy shop. I'll keep you posted with everything. Right now there is a lot of planning going on so I am not able to work on new handbags as much as I want to. As soon as all gets settled expect to see many new creations in the shop!
