Flower Power

I just added a new handbag to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. It's made from pure linen and is lined with the sweetest print. Retro-look flowers adorn the front pocket. More bags in this gorgeous linen are in production.  This week I plan a trip to the Garment District where I hope to find some corduroy fabric for my upcoming fall collection. Below I posted some corduroy handbags for you to peruse from my shop's sold items. Have a wonderful day!

Love the flowery one! I'm partial towards flowers as much as you are towards feathery things...

I love both bags! Wouldn't know which one to choose! The flower power one is so happy although I prefer darker colors for bags as I know myself! ;)

New Harris Tweed Patchwork

Just added a couple of one-of-a-kind Harris Tweed patchwork bags to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. It will be the perfect bag to pair up with your favorite fall or winter coat and add a pop of color to your day.
To create the flap I cut out squares of Harris Tweed wool and interface each piece. Then I play around arranging the different colors and patterns. That's the most fun part. When I am satisfied with the result I begin to sew them together. And that is how the patchwork flap evolves.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead. Enjoy!

Anni in the Garden

The Rainbow Bridge

Had to say goodbye to my sweet Anni this past Tuesday. She had been sick for several weeks and after my Vet confirmed that she would not get better only worse, I decided I could not let her suffer. So at around 2 pm she traveled to the rainbow bridge. She had been my buddy for more than 15 years.

When I first started sewing she would often sit right next to the sewing machine occasionally swatting at the lose thread at the end of my fabric. My partner walked by one day and said " Are you being a pesky little cat Anni?" That stayed in my mind so when it was time to name the shop, "Pesky Cat Designs" seemed perfect. She was actually far from pesky, with such a sweet and gentle demeanor.

I will never forget my little sweetie. She will be in my heart forever.
