A Nautical Mosaic

Today I want to share with you some beautiful photos I found on Flickr. Clockwise from top left: 1. Turning Tide 2. Colorful Boats 3. Jupiter Lighthouse 4. Beach Beauty

I just love the sea and spending time on the beach. I usually bring my watercolors with me and paint while I sit on my beach chair. I can spend hours just watching the seagulls and the waves coming to shore. It brings me such a sense of peace.
I was inspired to create this mosaic after I discovered that my Wayfarer Purse with  Seahorses was featured on Sunshine City Lassie's blog! Thanks Amy! The post feature, Nifty Nautical Finds: handbags, coin purses and wallets, includes some really lovely summer finds. Check it out! Also check out Amy's Etsy store, Sunshine City Lassie, for some really  unique jewelry and cool vintage finds.

Great pictures, lovely vibrant colours - you realy love the sea! I had a "sea moment" today myself. Can't wait for the holidays!
Thanks for mentioning my shop! I'm having a huge sale right now - up to 75% off over 30 items, and all jewelry is 50% off for the month of July for my third Etsy-versary.

New Harris Tweed Patchwork

Just added a couple of one-of-a-kind Harris Tweed patchwork bags to the Pesky Cat Designs shop. It will be the perfect bag to pair up with your favorite fall or winter coat and add a pop of color to your day.
To create the flap I cut out squares of Harris Tweed wool and interface each piece. Then I play around arranging the different colors and patterns. That's the most fun part. When I am satisfied with the result I begin to sew them together. And that is how the patchwork flap evolves.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead. Enjoy!

The Rainbow Bridge

Had to say goodbye to my sweet Anni this past Tuesday. She had been sick for several weeks and after my Vet confirmed that she would not get better only worse, I decided I could not let her suffer. So at around 2 pm she traveled to the rainbow bridge. She had been my buddy for more than 15 years.

When I first started sewing she would often sit right next to the sewing machine occasionally swatting at the lose thread at the end of my fabric. My partner walked by one day and said " Are you being a pesky little cat Anni?" That stayed in my mind so when it was time to name the shop, "Pesky Cat Designs" seemed perfect. She was actually far from pesky, with such a sweet and gentle demeanor.

I will never forget my little sweetie. She will be in my heart forever.
